Newsletter

We are experimenting with having a copy of our weekly newsletter on the website. This is an edited version of our full newsletter. We have removed children's names, car numberplates of inconsiderate parkers, and any other information that we feel should not be published on the Internet.

DEBATING SOCIETY

We now run a Debating Club for children in years 5 and 6. We are working with Partnerships for Excellence and Southgate , Hadley Wood, Walker and Oakthorpe Schools . On Wednesday the debating societies from these schools visited us for a debating day. Southgate students demonstrated a debate and supported the children in planning a debate on the motion “All schools should have swimming pools”. On our debating team were xxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxxx. These children also demonstrated their debate in assembly today.

On Wednesday 25 th February we will be taking our debating team to Hadley Wood School for our next debate

COMIC RELIEF

The school will be celebrating this year’s Red Nose Day on FRIDAY 13 th MARCH. The theme this year is ‘Do Something Funny for Money’. We are asking that children wear something funny on that day and bring a contribution towards Comic Relief. We will be having a special assembly on that day. Children wishing to perform need to be practising ‘something funny’ – jokes, magic tricks, etc.
