Parent Teacher Association

Eversley Primary School Association (EPSA)

The Eversley Primary School Association (EPSA) is a registered charity which provides funds for new facilities and a variety of school projects.  Our annual turnover is about £18000 a year.  We also work within the school, selling specialised school uniform and helping out at events.  We have fun and organise a mixture of social and fund raising events.

The committee is made up of nine parents and two teachers who meet monthly to plan events and campaigns.  They also discuss how to distribute funds to the school and to involve parents who can help the school by donating time in various ways to help the education of the children.

Every class has a parent representative.  This class rep system is designed to help communicate information to parents, as the reps are often around and about at the beginning and end of the school day.

Also have a look at our EPSA Information Board.  You can find this in the dining hall just by the entrance door of the infant building. Please have a look whenever you can, and please do contact us if you’ve any ideas or suggestions for fund-raising events.

Projects

2007

The Rainbow Appeal was launched at the beginning of May with the specific aim to raise money to re-stock the school library. We have a target of £6,000 and are well on our way to reaching this thanks to two highly successful rainbow appeal events: a very enjoyable rainbow day which raised £3,608.80 plus the gift aid that will follow shortly, and the Race Night which raised £480.

2006

In 2006 we raised £18,512. We are using this money to fund 2 major projects as well as many other smaller projects such as sponsoring the Arts Week. The first of two major projects we have undertaken is providing the finance for the refurbishment of the school library. The £7,000 we have provided will pay for the redecoration and fitting out with new library-specific shelving, as well as an automated library book borrowing system.

The second main contribution to the school we have made in this period, is the provision of three more interactive white boards that allow the projection of computer images (such as read-with-me computer books, and science presentations). The interactive white boards also allow any writing, pictures etc. to be saved back to the computer. They are extremely useful to help interactive teaching.
